Matt, enjoyed your All Automotive podcast about the 6.2 recall and your oil analysis. Question for you. We look at wear numbers for metals including lead, tin, copper, etc and feel good if they are low. But everything I can find about bearings today would say light duty trucks (which I would assume would include a 1/2 ton Chevy or GMC) use bearings made of an aluminum/silicon alloy. Do you know what we should actually be looking for? I too own a 2024 6.2 GMC and have been invited into this recall. I have an oil analysis by Blackstone Labs. The L87 only had 8000 miles on it, and the oil sample was used for the last 3900 miles. I had high copper and silicon, and slightly elevated iron and tin which they attributed to a new engine. Like you, I will keep an eye on this. I have no recall appointment yet as the service department is still awaiting parts. Thanks for your show!
